We are Future Point
Future Point will put Manchester at the forefront of the UK’s data centre revolution. Future Point is a new, private electricity network anchored by one of Europe’s largest data centres. With a 2028 1.4GW grid connection, the project will unlock over £10 billion in private investment and add £1.7bn to the UK’s economy each year.
Future Point Manchester is a joint venture between Eclipse Power (owned by funds managed by Octopus Renewables Infrastructure SCSp, a fund managed by investment manager Octopus Renewables Limited) and Carlton Power, the UK’s leading independent energy developer.
The project is a critical growth opportunity, harnessing the explosion in demand for data centres and making Manchester a hub of green investment and AI opportunity. Future Point will be located adjacent to the 884MW Carrington Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT), a 680MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), an innovative transmission connected Long Duration Battery Storage project, the 65 acre Voltage Park development and HyNet infrastructure putting Manchester at the forefront of the low-carbon and data centre economy.

About Carlton Power
Carlton Power Group is an independent, UK based energy development company formed in 1995, headquartered in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. We have an excellent track record of developing energy projects in the UK and Europe, resulting in 2200MW / 8% of the UK gas fired CCGT projects to date.
Our legacy is high efficiency Combined Cycle Gas Turbines that have displaced coal fired generation, but we continue to evolve, further refining our strategy to focus upon energy developments that support the transition to a net zero – PV solar, Li-ion and CRYO batteries and green hydrogen production.
As an integrated developer, owner and operator of low carbon generating assets, we are uniquely placed with our multi-disciplinary, experienced team to consider all aspects of energy development – planning, permitting, procurement, financing, construction and operation.
In addition to the core energy developments, we have a growing commercial property portfolio encompassing offices, retail and industrial, where we apply the same rigour and process to deliver and manage high quality assets.
